News page - from Bluebell Barn Bed and Breakfast - Norfolk

Welcome to the Bluebell barn news page where we will be adding news items about Bluebell Barn, new offers and facilities, new nearby events and any news that our friends and guests may wish to send to us.

Bluebell Barn has its own Chickens!

We have our own ex-battery hens at last! We took delivery of ten chickens in late June and they have spent the last six weeks learning how to cope with the real world.

They are becoming real characters but are yet to learn to lay consistently!

Pathfinder Guide Dog

Guess what? - Clyde has become a proper little hero (well not so little actually).

For those of you who have been following Clyde’s progress on the Pathfinder Guide Dog Programme (as he was a Bluebell Barn resident from 9 weeks old (bless him) to 2 years old) you will be delighted to learn that he has PASSED.

Clyde now holds the distinction to be the first working dog for the Pathfinder guide dog program - qualifying on 10th Feb 2010.

You can see our handsome lad pictured below with his new handler, Robin, and the second picture shows off his new harness. (Clyde’s; not Robin’s!).

Robin and Clyde

We have all told Clyde how proud we are of him and he says that all dog biscuit and dog bone donations plus requests for autographs may be made through his agents, Mark and Karen at Bluebell Barn. He regrets that he can not respond in person but he is now a very busy working boy, and he also has to learn some Welsh, as that’s where he is now moving to. Oh fame and the globe trotting world……

Clyde’s sister, Bonnie, is due to be partnered with her new handler in May so it will be a real family celebration.

If you want to read Clyde’s page and keep fully up to date with his progress then simply go to www.pathfinderdogs.org and click on Clyde’s page.

As we progress throughout this coming year we will add items of interest and would encourage guests to send any news items to us that they would be happy to share with the rest of our friends at Bluebell Barn B & B - perhaps even photographs that you have taken whist staying with us, family additions (including four footed friends).
